Veszprémy László a Hadtörténeti Intézet igazgatója, a piliscsabai Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem tanára. Könyve a Rerum Fides (Mesterművek) című sorozat második kötete. A sorozat nemzetközi érdeklődést kiváltó magyarországi, illetve magyar vonatkozású legfrissebb történeti kutatási eredményeket tartalmazó monográfiákat, tanulmányköteteket, forrásközleményeket ad közre. Párhuzamosan, egy kiadványon belül magyar és alapvetően angol - de tematikától függően német vagy francia - nyelven kiadott vagy bő összefoglalóval ellátott történeti munkákat tartalmaz, melyek elsősorban a politika-, gazdaság-, diplomácia- és művelődéstörténet témaköréből származnak.

László Veszprémy is head of the Institute of Military History, Budapest, and professor of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University at Piliscsaba. His book is the second volume of the series Rerum Fides (Masterworks), consisting of monographs, studies and source publications on Hungary or Hungary-related topics. It publishes recent historical researches of wide interest, focusing on politics, economics and cultural history. In these volumes, beside the Hungarian text, the reader may find a parallel translation or a detailed summary in English or, according to the relevance of the topic, in German or in French.
